Administration– Support the ministries of the church

Altar Guild– Provide an atmosphere of reverence and beauty for worship

Children– Equip and excite children, preteens and families in their personal relationship with Christ, utilizing Scripture, study, fellowship and service.

Teach or assist with Sunday School for children under 5 years old
Facilitate or assist with Children’s Chapel for children under 5 years old

Assist in the nursery rooms with infants to age 3 on Sunday mornings
Teach or assist with Sunday School for elementary age children

Teach lesson utilizing Preteen (5th-6th grade) curriculum provided by Children’s Ministry.
Host Step-Up (5th-6th grade) gathering in your home, providing the location, snacks and refreshments.
Attend Step-Up 5th-6th grade) events, trips and activities on and off campus to ensure Safe Sanctuaries compliance and develop relationships with preteens.
(CDL license required) Drive church van/bus for Step-Up or children’s activities off campus in the local area.


Special Needs “GEMs” Ministry (GEM – God’s Exceptional Miracles) – Ensure that children with disabilities feel welcome and comfortable as they safely participate fully in the life of the church.

One-on-one specific sponsorship of a child at Darivager Orphanage in Les Cayes, Haiti for $35.00 a month. Sponsors receive semi-annual letters and updates from the children and Pastor Dieuseul and Neemy Mongerard.
Contribute to the education and medical fund of the chldren at Darivager and Big House Orphanages in Les Cayes, Haiti for $35.00 a month. Sponsors receive semi-annual updates from Give Hope Global and Dr. Osselin Junior.
Work with Costa Rica Mission Projects in San Isidro to construct new buildings from the United Methodist Church family, March 26-April 2, 2016.
Construct new buildings at Agape Christian Academy during this 10-day annual trip over New Years. No special skills required.
Support the installation of clean water systems in Haiti through FUMC’s partnership with Living Waters for the World. Training provided.
Chaperone the international youth mission trip to Costa Rica on July 9-16, 2016.
Teach Vacation Bible School or plan children’s activities for a trip to Russia, Ecuador, or Haiti
Doctors, surgeons, nurses, dentists and other willing medical professionals and volunteers team together with Dr. Roberto Contreras to provide a medical clinic for hundreds of patients in the Quito-area
Work with the Global Missions Ministry Team to organize events, such as the annual Missions Extravaganza and Global Launch Lunch

Fill in for Receptionist welcoming guests to the church office and answering phone on an as needed basis

Answer phones and provide assistance to guests at the Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings (8:00am – 12pm)

Pray at home for general needs of the church using information sent monthly
Pray in small groups for specific needs of the church, community, and world
Volunteer for one hour (or more) per week to pray for requests that are submitted to the Prayer Ministry
Pray in the Prayer Room one Sunday per month for the worship services as they are in progress. Volunteers needed during the 8:30 and 11:00 traditional services.
Knit/crochet shawls for those needing comfort (yarn provided)

Greet new members and visitors before the service, pass out bulletins, answer any questions visitors or members may have regarding our facilities and make all feel welcome.

Assist in providing an atmosphere of worship by helping create a sound mix that is well-balanced, fits the overall vision of the service and supports the audio needs of the pastor, band and community.
Assist in providing an atmosphere of worship by operating our media software during worship, endure that the community is engaged in worship via the implementation of song lyrics, responsive readings, videos, etc.
Assist with providing an atmosphere of worship through the use of lighting by adjusting light settings to reflect the overall flow and atmosphere of the worship service.
Assist in leading congregational prayer and be available to pray with people during services, pray with and for the FL community and leadership
Assist with serving communion during the worship service
Assist with creating altars that reflect and communicate the message of the worship service. Creativity required.
Take up offering and make sure attendance pads are placed in their appropriate spots before and after service.

Youth – Evangelize, disciple and empower youth (7th – 12th grade) and their families

Help oversee weekly events and special events (positive energy and encouragement!)
Oversee a calendar of volunteers and help make sure dinner is provided each Thursday. Oversee the weekly budget.
Provide a meal for 20-30 youth and volunteers. Meals take place at 5:30pm on Thursday nights during the school year. Sign up for one meal/year or as many as you like.
Tutor youth Thursday afternoons in the youth area right after school. Tutors for all subjects needed.
Help foster growth, encouragement, and a positive experience for new visitors and members. Also help with tasks such as set-up and tear-down. This would be a year-long commitment.
Pick up students in the chuch vans at their school pick-up location and bring them back to the church for homework and games. Commitment is 1 Thursday per month. Class D license required.
Teach Sunday School for either middle or high school age.
Fill-in in the event a youth worker or volunteer was unable to teach.
Assist in checking roll and welcoming students one week a month.
Oversee a schedule and list of Confirmation breakfast volunteers, reminding the weekly breakfast provider and rescheduling when a volunteer has a schedule conflict.
